چکیده
A 34-year-old male was referred to our hospital for drainage of symptomatic pancreatic fluid collections (PFCs) secondary to an acute pancreatitis. He was affected by gastro-duodenal and biliary obstruction. CT scan images revealed 1 perigastric pseudocyst (well-defined wall, without necrosis content, 70 x 120 mm) and 1 periduodenal walled-off pancreatic necrosis (WOPN) (thickened wall, partially liquefied collection containing solid content, 80 x 90 mm). Both PFC were accessed under endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-guidance with a 6 Fr-cystotom and dilation tract using a 10 mm balloon (Fig. 1). First, the pseudocyst was drained transgastrically with a fully covered SEMS with bilateral anchor Double endosonography-guided transgastric and transduodenal drainage of infected pancreatic-fluid collections using metallic stents

Comparative evaluation of two porcine ex vivo models for training in endoscopic ultrasound-guided drainage of pancreatic fluid collections
Ultrasound-guided drainage is the first-line modality for drainage of symptomatic of pancreatic fluid collections. In the context of pancreatic cancer, use of multiple double-pigtail plastic stents suffice, with high treatment efficacy. This approach provides similar success rates with low complications and better quality of life compared with surgery. Lumen apposing metallic stents (LAMSs) per...
متن کاملEndoscopic Ultrasound-Guided Drainage without Fluoroscopic Guidance for Extraluminal Complicated Cysts
Background. Endoscopic ultrasound- (EUS-) guided drainage is generally performed under fluoroscopic guidance. However, improvements in endoscopic and EUS techniques and experience have led to questions regarding the usefulness of fluoroscopy. This study aimed to retrospectively evaluate the safety and efficacy of EUS-guided drainage of extraluminal complicated cysts without fluoroscopic guidanc...
متن کاملEndoscopic ultrasound-guided placement of AXIOS stent for drainage of pancreatic fluid collections.
Pancreatic fluid collections (PFCs) have conventionally been treated with surgery, percutaneous drainage, or with the more recently established endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-guided drainage modality. Currently, endoscopic plastic or metallic stents are used for PFC drainage. Plastic stents present issues with stent migration and premature occlusion requiring frequent stent exchanges or placement ...
متن کاملPERCUTANEOUS DRAINAGE OF ABDOMINAL ABSCESSES AND FLUID COLLECTIONS
This report summarizes the results of 64 percutaneous catheter drainage of abdominal abscesses and fluid collections in 56 patients. Aspiration and drainage was guided with computed tomography in 34 patients and with ultrasound in 30 patients. Success rate was 90%. Infected collections were successfully drained in 94% and noninfected collections in 72% . Partial success was achieved in two...
متن کاملEndoscopic Ultrasound-Guided Transluminal Drainage for Peripancreatic Fluid Collections: Where Are We Now?
Endoscopic drainage for pancreatic and peripancreatic fluid collections (PFCs) has been increasingly used as a minimally invasive alternative to surgical or percutaneous drainage. Recently, endoscopic ultrasound-guided transluminal drainage (EUS-TD) has become the standard of care and a safe procedure for nonsurgical PFC treatment. EUS-TD ensures a safe puncture, avoiding intervening blood vess...
